0% regulation on photovoltaic products in GERMANY:

Application of the zero tax rate according to Section 12 Paragraph 3 No. 1 UStG (so-called "zero tax rate" or "real VAT exemption"). The prerequisite is that the bottleneck power of the photovoltaic system (in total) does not exceed 30 kW (peak) and that the photovoltaic system is operated by the operator on or near certain buildings. The tax is reduced to 0 percent for the following sales:

the supply of solar modules to the operator of a photovoltaic system, including the components essential for the operation of a photovoltaic system and the storage devices used to store the electricity generated by solar modules, when the photovoltaic system is installed on or near private dwellings, apartments and public and other buildings used for activities of public utility.

The requirements of sentence 1 are deemed to be met if the installed gross capacity of the photovoltaic system does not or will not exceed 30 kilowatts (peak) according to the market data register.

 

Please note that products that are not essential components of a photovoltaic system (such as wall boxes) are not covered by the zero tax rate.
